This role involves translating complex information into practical learning experiences and facilitating training in various formats.

Full job description
GWA Group is a leading innovator, designer, importer and supplier of sustainable water solutions for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries across residential and commercial spaces. With our iconic brands Caroma and Methven, and operations spanning Australia, New Zealand and the UK, we’re shaping a better, more sustainable future, one solution at a time.
We're looking for a Technical Training Lead to help build the technical capability of our sales teams and strengthen our position as a trusted technical partner to the industry. This role is central to our commitment to the trade and our 'Obsession with the Plumber' strategy.
This is not a desk-based training role. While you'll be based from our new Prestons Centre of Excellence, you'll spend the majority of your time facilitating training either at Prestons or supporting our sales team in field / interstate. Whether you're running workshops, facilitating hands-on product demonstrations, coaching sales teams in the field or presenting to large groups, you'll play a critical role in helping others build confidence and capability.
As our Technical Training Lead, you'll:
Deliver engaging technical training to our Customer Experience and Sales teams, customers and industry partners.
Coach and develop the technical capability of our sales and specialist teams through field support and training programmes.
Translate complex plumbing, product and compliance information into practical, easy-to-understand learning experiences.
Facilitate training in a variety of formats including classroom, digital, one-on-one and large group presentations.
Partner with product, marketing, quality and R&D teams to ensure training remains current and aligned to product innovation.
Support the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of our exciting new training facility in Prestons.
Build strong relationships across the plumbing industry, including merchants, plumbers and training organisations.
You'll be someone who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others succeed. You're confident engaging with a diverse audience, from experienced tradespeople through to sales professionals with varying levels of technical understanding.
Ideally, you'll bring:
A plumbing trade background, completed apprenticeship, or strong technical experience within the plumbing, water or building products industry.
The ability to "speak plumber" while adapting your communication style to different audiences.
Experience delivering training, facilitating workshops or presenting to groups, or the confidence and enthusiasm to develop these skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build credibility and relationships.
A customer-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and learning.
The availability to travel locally and interstate as part of the role.
A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or similar) would be advantageous but is not essential.
This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise with your passion for developing people. You'll have the chance to shape technical capability across our business, work closely with industry professionals, and make full use of a purpose-built training facility designed to showcase the best of our products and solutions.
If you're passionate about the trade, enjoy working with people, and want to help lift the technical capability of a national sales organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and help us build the next generation of technical excellence at GWA.
