Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.
As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Watch in Jacksonville, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $18.25 / Hour

How This Role Works:
Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and customer instructions at a utilities location.
Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations and actions according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including operational areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points, noting unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or authorizations as required, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted or sensitive areas.
Support emergency response activities by communicating with site contacts, public responders, and/or Allied Universal leadership, while documenting incidents, patrol activity, and security-related findings in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
Have customer service experience preferred.
Have access control and badge experience preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
