The Shelter Supervisor manages daily shelter operations, including the recruitment, training, and performance management of support staff. They are responsible for crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and implementing housing first programs for vulnerable citizens.
Candidates should have at least one year of leadership experience and two years of frontline experience, preferably with a post-secondary degree or diploma. Proficiency in addressing mental health and addictions, along with strong communication skills, is required.
The Shelter Supervisor upholds The Mustard Seed's ministry mission by maintaining a high level of professionalism and showing respect to everyone who enters the space and to the local residents. Reporting to Shelter Manager, the Shelter Supervisor manages the daily operations of the shelter. This individual also oversees the recruitment, training, and performance management of the staff. Daily responsibilities for this role include crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and coaching conversations.
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
