Looking for a fun, rewarding opportunity where you can share your time with others and make a difference? Join our Care-A-Van family! Catholic Social Services is looking for volunteers to support our Care-A-Van Program by assisting with mobile outreach services that provide food, essential supplies, and compassionate support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Responsibilities:
Support face to face engagement with individuals experiencing homelessness by providing a welcoming, respectful, and non-judgmental presence.
Attend and participate in mandatory Care-A-Van volunteer training sessions
Support scheduled Care-A-Van outreach activities by accompanying staff in the van following staff guidance at all times.
Assist staff by handing out food, water, hygiene items, and seasonal supplies.
Use a relationship based and trauma informed approach when interacting with community members, recognizing diverse lived experiences and personal boundaries.
Help organize, receive, sort, and restock donations, including food, clothing, hygiene items, and seasonal supplies
