Full job description
Overview
At KPMG in Canada, our people bring their unique perspectives to Canada’s most important challenges. Here, you can build momentum that reaches beyond our business, develop skills for the future, and take ownership of your career with support at every stage. Join a firm where your career can make a difference.
As a Senior Consultant in SAP S/4HANA Finance Public Cloud, you will support end-to-end delivery of finance capabilities with a focus on Record-to-Report (R2R), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR). You will translate Fit-to-Standard decisions into clean-core configuration, contribute to testing and data readiness, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., SD/MM, integrations, data, and change) to enable an integrated solution and a successful go-live.
What you will do
Support and contribute to Fit-to-Standard workshops for Finance (R2R/AP/AR), including documenting standard process adoption, gaps, and key decisions.
Configure SAP S/4HANA Finance Public Cloud using SAP Best Practices (CBC/SSCUI where applicable), aligned to clean-core principles and approved design outcomes.
Develop functional inputs for extensions, reports, forms, workflows, and interfaces; collaborate with technical/integration teams to ensure functional correctness.
Execute and support unit testing, SIT, and UAT: create test scripts, support defect triage, and drive issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
Support period-end close readiness activities, reconciliations, and validation of key controls and auditability expectations in a cloud mindset.
Contribute to data readiness and migration validation (e.g., customer/vendor master, open items, balances), including reconciliation and sign-off support.
Assist with cutover planning and execution (checklists, mock cutover support), go-live activities, and hypercare stabilization for Finance operations.
Create/update functional documentation and enablement materials (process documentation, work instructions, training inputs) for stakeholders and end users.
Stay current on SAP Public Cloud quarterly releases; support impact assessments and continuous improvement recommendations.
What you bring to the role
4+ years of SAP Finance (FI/CO) experience, including hands-on configuration and support across R2R, AP, and/or AR; SAP S/4HANA exposure required and Public Cloud experience strongly preferred.
Experience participating in Fit-to-Standard workshops and translating outcomes into configuration, backlog items, and testable requirements.
Strong testing discipline: ability to develop scenarios/scripts, execute SIT/UAT cycles, and manage defects to closure with business and technical teams.
Working knowledge of SAP Fiori apps and role-based process execution; comfort supporting user enablement and adoption activities.
Integration awareness across end-to-end processes (e.g., SD-to-Finance, Procurement/MM-to-Finance) and understanding of upstream/downstream impacts on postings and reporting.
Strong analytical, documentation, and client communication skills; ability to explain process and configuration decisions clearly.
Consulting mindset with ability to manage priorities, collaborate in teams, and work effectively in a client-facing delivery environment.
