Responsibilities

Assist with catering functions and maintain a clean food services area according to Public Health standards. Participate in health and safety programs, including hazard identification and emergency response procedures.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Food Safe Handler's certificate, First Aid CPR Level C, and a Police Check with Vulnerable Sector. Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment is required.

Working Hours : Tues, Wed., Sat.- (3:30p- 7p) & Sun. (7a-3p) (36 hrs. biweekly) (Kitchen Assistant- Grand Manor)

🔍 What You’ll Do: 

  • To actively participate with Excel Society’s Health and Safety Program; including but not limited to: participating with hazard identification and assessments; worksite inspections and reporting noted safety concerns; and participating with hazard control efforts.
  • To be aware of and implement as required Excel Society’s Safety Emergency Response Procedures.
  • Make timely and informed decisions that consider facts, goals, constraints, risk, Excel Society Values, and the Excel Advantage.
  • Strive to uphold a safe working environment and be Health and Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining and improving a safe work environment.
  • Assisting with all catering functions.
  • Liaising with immediate supervisor, to inform, consult, and problem-solve regarding any serious problems/concerns encountered in providing service.
  • Ensuring dish machine temperatures are checked and recorded on established forms.
  • Ensuring the food services area is kept clean according to Public Health standards.
  • Ensuring the surrounding area is kept clean and maintained according to procedures.  
  • Ensuring all required information is exchanged between staff members during shift exchange.

  • Working in fast pace environment with tight deadlines
  • Lifting up to a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Food Safe Handler’s certificate from a recognized institution. 
  • First Aid CPR Level C Certificate is required
  • Police Check with Vulnerable sector is mandate.
