The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading building materials, managing inventory, and preparing custom orders for shipment. This role involves operating heavy equipment, using chainsaws, and maintaining accurate documentation of products in a team-based environment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and experience operating a forklift or heavy equipment. The role requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, move up to 100 pounds, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Weyerhaeuser currently has an opportunity available for a Forklift Operator at our Concord location. We are conveniently located near Harrisburg, just behind the motor speedway. Our focus each day is on safely delivering high‑quality wood products to our customers. We receive a variety of wood products from our mills, cut them to specification, and then move the finished materials to our customers in a safe and efficient manner.
We take great pride in servicing our customers in a safe and team-based environment. The primary activities in our operations department include unloading railcars/trucks of building materials, cycle counting, storing materials, breaking full units down into custom orders, and loading outbound trucks.
We are looking to hire talented people that are interested in getting trained in our business. These are NOT temp positions, these are direct hire positions with benefits, for anyone wanting a career. This role will be performed on the evening shift and require regular movement throughout the day, which means regular periods of standing, sitting, walking, and sliding/moving up to 100 pounds, and even driving heavy equipment outdoors in all types of weather.
With the direction of the Site Manager, this role will focus on safely moving our product for our customers. We want talented people with at least a high school diploma, that have a drive to perform and a commitment to safety. From there, we will safely train them to pick and pull orders and operate a forklift to efficiently load and move products for our customers.
The hourly pay range is $18.50 - $22.58 per hour, which does not include overtime, which is additional. The shift would start at 4:30 PM and will end at 1:00AM. There is room for some overtime, and you can also drive your base pay rate higher, as you master more and more skills. Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
Ability to work within a team to solve customer problems and complete general tasks
Willing to work outside, regularly moving, in the elements five days a week and occasional weekends
Ability to continuously work while standing, sitting, and driving equipment throughout the day.
Ability to work, while lifting towards 50lbs
Ability to work while moving and sliding up to 100lbs
Ability to operate a chainsaw
Basic computer skills
Required Education & Experience:
Experience operating a forklift or heavy equipment operation where long length material has been handled
High school diploma or GED required
A proven track record of successful performance at school and work
