The technician is responsible for the timely response, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of POS hardware and related equipment at customer sites. They must also maintain accurate inventory records and provide preventative maintenance to ensure system functionality.
Candidates should ideally have an Associate's degree in IT and at least one year of technology service experience. Required skills include proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and basic computer break/fix capabilities.
SUMMARY
The POS Field Service Technician is accountable to ensure timely response to all service requests for customer sites in their assigned territory. Overall responsibility includes ensuring customer needs for any POS hardware, as well as additional hardware, issues that are reported are responded to, and the appropriate troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and thorough testing are completed. Additional hardware may include laser printers, meat scales, and wrappers, network equipment, etc. The POS Field Service Technician is responsible to maintain current accurate spare parts/equipment inventory, as well as very strong emphasis on timely and accurate documentation and records.
