About the role
Corva is transforming the oil and gas industry through real-time data analytics, AI, and automation. Our platform enables operators, drilling contractors, and service companies around the world to improve execution, accelerate digital transformation, and deliver measurable operational value across the well lifecycle.
Predictive Drilling is one of Corva's flagship technologies and plays a key role in the future of closed-loop drilling automation. By combining real-time drilling data, machine learning, and AI, the technology continuously analyzes drilling conditions and delivers cloud-based recommendations that improve drilling consistency, reduce drilling dysfunctions, and increase rate of penetration (ROP).
As Predictive Drilling continues to expand across operators, drilling contractors, basins, and drilling environments, we're looking for a customer-focused engineer to help deploy, scale, and advance one of the industry's most advanced drilling automation technologies.
Hybrid based in Houston
Travel: 20-30% travel to West Texas
The Opportunity
As a Predictive Drilling Solutions Engineer, you'll become the technical owner of one of Corva's most advanced technologies.
You'll work directly with operators, drilling contractors, and cross-functional teams—including Product Management, R&D, Operations, Go-to-Market teams, and Field Engineering—to deploy Predictive Drilling, drive customer adoption, and influence the future of AI-powered drilling automation. Your success will be measured not only by successful deployments, but by the long-term value the technology delivers and the product improvements your feedback helps create.
What you'll do
Deploy and Scale Predictive Drilling
Lead end-to-end deployments of Predictive Drilling, including deployment planning, configuration, readiness validation, and customer onboarding.
Support customer objectives across diverse rigs, BHAs, formations, and drilling environments.
Partner with customers and internal teams to ensure successful deployment and adoption.
Drive Drilling Optimization
Provide technical guidance during live operations and support customers in applying Predictive Drilling to drive drilling optimization.
Analyze drilling data and operational trends to improve technology adoption and maximize customer value.
Capture lessons learned and translate them into repeatable best practices.
Lead the Predictive Drilling Product Line
Serve as Corva's champion for Predictive Drilling.
Develop deployment standards, technical documentation, and best practices.
Work closely with GTM Solutions Engineers and other internal teams on Predictive Drilling workflows and capabilities.
Represent Predictive Drilling during customer workshops, technical presentations, and industry engagements.
Help scale Predictive Drilling across new customers, basins, and drilling environments.
Shape the Future of the Product
Translate customer feedback into product enhancements and new capabilities.
Partner with Product Management and R&D to validate features and improve the customer experience.
Identify opportunities to automate workflows and expand the value of Predictive Drilling.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Typically 5–10 years of experience in drilling engineering, drilling optimization, drilling operations, or a related discipline. Candidates with additional relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Strong understanding of drilling mechanics, drilling operations, BHAs, hydraulics, torque and drag, and drilling dysfunctions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage technical and managerial audiences.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
Strong customer-facing skills with ability to work directly with customers, understand operational needs, and deliver practical technical solutions.
Nice to have
Experience with Auto Drillers and drilling automation.
Experience working with real-time drilling data platforms.
Familiarity with WITSML, EDR systems, rig data acquisition, and drilling analytics.
Previous experience as a Drilling Engineer, Performance Engineer, Operations Engineer, Company Representative, Directional Driller, MWD Engineer, MPD Engineer, or RTOC Engineer.
Experience with Corva products is a plus.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to continue helping define the future of drilling automation.
You'll work directly with leading operators and influence the evolution of one of the industry's most advanced AI-powered drilling technologies. Beyond leading deployments, you'll help shape the product, establish best practices, and accelerate the adoption of technology that's redefining how drilling operations are executed around the world.
