The Data Scientist will support data-driven decision-making by developing datasets, performing analytical modelling, and creating reports and dashboards. They will also contribute to enterprise-wide data strategy initiatives and support the delivery of data literacy programs.
Candidates should have a few years of experience in data analytics or data science and a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field. Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and experience with data visualization tools are required.
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) is advancing a renewed enterprise-wide data strategy focused on building strong data foundations, including data and AI governance, a centralized analytics platform, and data literacy. We are strengthening our analytics capabilities to help the organization use data to solve complex business problems, support evidence-based decision-making, and improve service delivery across the enterprise.
Position Summary:
The Data Scientist is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Data and Analytics. This is a contract opportunity that offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience across analytics, data literacy, and enterprise data platform initiatives.
Working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and analytics professionals, the Data Scientist will support data-driven decision-making through dataset development, data analysis, analytical modelling, and stakeholder engagement, while also contributing to enterprise initiatives that strengthen IO's data foundations. The role is ideal for a curious and adaptable individual looking to build broad experience across the data and analytics lifecycle, with opportunities to contribute in areas that align with both organizational priorities and personal interests.
