The Founding Recruiter will own the entire hiring process across all company functions, from engineering to clinical leadership. They will design the recruiting infrastructure from scratch and build creative sourcing engines to attract top talent.
Candidates must have experience recruiting across multiple disciplines and a proven track record of proactive talent hunting. They should be entrepreneurial, AI-native, and capable of operating in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
We help clinicians launch and scale their own clinics by providing AI-powered software, payer contracting, and full back-office infrastructure. Our goal is simple: shift power in healthcare away from large consolidated entities and back to clinicians.
We've raised over $14M in funding from early-stage investors like Core Innovation Capital, Adverb Ventures, and South Park Commons, and are building for long-term category leadership. More importantly, we're serving hundreds of patients, while growing 30% MoM.
As Founding Recruiter, you'll be responsible for helping build the team that builds Alpaca. You'll recruit across every function in the company: software engineering, product, operations, provider growth, marketing, customer success, and clinical leadership. You'll own the entire hiring process while developing creative, scalable ways to identify and attract exceptional talent.
This is not a recruiting coordinator role. This is not a role where you'll inherit a mature recruiting function.
You'll help design how hiring works at Alpaca from the ground up.
The people you bring into the company will directly shape our culture, velocity, and ability to achieve our mission.
Lead full-cycle recruiting for roles across engineering, product, GTM, operations, and clinical teams.
You'll work directly with founders and hiring managers to define roles, build candidate pipelines, run interview processes, and close exceptional candidates.
We don't believe the best candidates are always actively applying.
You'll develop creative ways to find and engage talent, including community-building, referral systems, outbound sourcing campaigns, events, content, partnerships, and AI-powered recruiting workflows.
You should constantly be asking:
"How do we find talent that nobody else is talking to?"
Build systems, processes, and automations that allow Alpaca to move faster than larger companies.
This includes:
Candidate sourcing workflows
Outreach sequences
Interview scorecards
Hiring manager training
ATS management
Pipeline reporting
Offer and closing processes
Help leaders identify what great looks like.
Challenge assumptions.
Improve interview quality.
Raise the hiring bar across the company.
You'll be expected to become a trusted thought partner rather than simply filling roles.
Great recruiting is part sales, part storytelling.
You'll help candidates understand why joining Alpaca is a career-defining opportunity and communicate our mission, culture, and vision in a compelling way.
As the company scales, you'll help determine what recruiting resources we need, what specialization makes sense, and eventually help hire future recruiting team members.
