The Shop Assistant supports the maintenance department by managing inventory and delivering parts throughout the greenhouse facility. They are also responsible for assisting in the repair of equipment and operating various lifts and machinery.
Candidates must have at least one year of forklift experience and be comfortable working at heights above 6 feet. Basic computer skills and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance are required.

Job Setting & Physical Demands
This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including various weather conditions and with dust and allergens. Position requires long-term (up to 8+hours/day) ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Position also requires utilization of fine motor skills, including but not limited to pinching, squeezing, and pulling. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including the ability to obtain required certifications to operate such equipment as necessary. Candidate also must have the ability to work at heights over 6 (six) feet. Candidate must be able to utilize and communicate via a 2-way radio
Candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
