The VP Product Management, Tax Reporting will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our tax reporting product suite within a fast-growing fintech environment. This role is responsible for building scalable, compliant, and client-centric tax reporting solutions that meet complex regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional user experience.
You will sit at the intersection of tax regulation, technology, data, and customer experience—translating evolving global tax requirements into innovative digital solutions. This is a strategic leadership role requiring deep domain knowledge in tax reporting and strong product management expertise in fintech or financial services.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
Define and own the product vision and multi-year roadmap for tax reporting solutions.
Identify market opportunities, regulatory changes, and client needs to shape product direction.
Drive innovation in automation, data accuracy, scalability, and reporting transparency.
Position the company as a market leader in digital tax reporting solutions.
Regulatory & Domain Leadership
Monitor and interpret evolving global tax regulations (e.g., FATCA, CRS, 1099, DAC6/7/8, CGT reporting, digital asset reporting).
Translate regulatory requirements into clear product specifications and scalable system features.
Ensure products maintain full compliance across jurisdictions.
Serve as internal subject matter expert on tax reporting regulations and trends.
Product Development & Execution
Lead end-to-end product lifecycle: discovery, requirements, prioritization, development, testing, launch, and iteration.
Partner closely with Engineering, Data, Compliance, Operations, and Design teams.
Define detailed product requirements and user stories.
Drive Agile product development practices and ensure timely delivery against roadmap.
Establish KPIs to measure product performance, adoption, and client satisfaction.
Client & Market Engagement
Engage with clients to understand tax reporting pain points and evolving needs.
Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to support product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
Represent the product in client meetings, industry forums, and regulatory discussions.
Gather feedback and incorporate insights into product enhancements
Data & Technology Leadership
Oversee product architecture related to tax data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting.
Champion automation, API integrations, and scalable data frameworks.
Ensure data accuracy, auditability, and traceability within all reporting outputs.
Promote secure-by-design and privacy-first product principles.
Commercial & Business Ownership
Own product P&L or commercial performance metrics (where applicable).
Develop pricing strategies and packaging in collaboration with commercial teams.
Monitor competitive landscape and drive differentiation strategies.
Support revenue growth and client retention through continuous product enhancement.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
8–12+ years of experience in product management within fintech, financial services, or tax technology.
Expertise in tax reporting regimes and compliance frameworks preferred
Proven track record of launching and scaling complex regulatory, compliance or data-driven products.
Strong understanding of financial data systems, APIs, cloud-based platforms, and SaaS models.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Ability to bridge regulatory complexity with technical execution.
Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $220,000 - $240,000.
