Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and one to three months of related experience. A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain an Indiana Horse Racing Commission license are required, along with the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

JOB SUMMARY
Maintains, and repairs the racetrack surfaces and physical structures.
DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: None
HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY
Ensure all equipment to be used during the assigned shift is ready for use.
Operate water trucks, tractors, backhoe, spreader truck.
Wash equipment.
Repair pylons and fence as needed.
Assist with equipment repair and maintenance.
Do preventive maintenance on equipment such as changing oil, replenishing fluids, etc.
Refuel vehicles.
Remove and replace rail as required.
Minor carpentry work.
Minor welding repairs.
Snow removal for all areas of Hoosier Park.
Assist Landscaping staff when required.
Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Proficient in English verbal and written.
High school diploma or GED. One to three months related experience and/ or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and a fun environment for guests.
Will manage risk factors within the company department or division employed, in such ways to eliminate company exposure to insurance claims and legal/ court challenges. Ensure all company activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays if applicable.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift/ push up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively. Will be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.
Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling guest and employee conflicts.
Specific vision abilities such as close, distance, color, depth and ability to adjust focus.
Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period.
Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to write simple correspondence. Able to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations.
Responsible for fostering a fun environment.
Promote a positive influence in the company and company sponsored events. Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
