Full job description
Company Description
Covista is America's largest healthcare educator, serving more than 97,000 students and supported by a community of 385,000 alumni across five accredited institutions. Through personalized, tech-enabled education powered by 10,000 faculty and colleagues, Covista expands access to healthcare careers and addresses the U.S. healthcare workforce shortage at scale. Covista is the parent company of American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Chamberlain University, Ross University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and Walden University.
Our colleagues come from a wide range of backgrounds, business, academia, healthcare, government and nonprofits, and are part of a culture where doing exceptional work and making a meaningful difference for students and society aren't separate goals—they're one and the same. This means creating an environment where colleagues can develop new skills, build careers that match their ambitions and see the tangible impact of their work on healthcare education and workforce development. Colleagues who deliver results and embrace new tools to work smarter are valued for their contributions. But what makes working at Covista distinctive is our impact. Our faculty and colleagues don't just support healthcare education—they shape it. This isn't abstract purpose work. It's solving real problems for real people in real communities while advancing careers.
We operate on a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week (Monday–Thursday). This approach enhances creativity, innovation, communication, and relationship-building, fostering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Covista Open Doors -- our enterprise impact strategy -- launched in early 2026, and this role sits at the center of bringing it to life. The Senior Manager, Impact Engagement, is a newly created position responsible for embedding our impact story in the fabric of how Covista drives our business, engages our people and shows up in the world.
Working across the full Corporate Affairs community -- from alumni, government and investor relations to public affairs and communications -- this role ensures our impact strategy is a deliberate and consistent thread across all we do. Through communications, events, programming, institution enablement and new partnerships, this work reaches and resonates with the stakeholders who matter most.
The Senior Manager, Impact Engagement reports directly to the VP, Impact and is an active member of the Impact function, positioned within Corporate Affairs.
Develop and lead the engagement strategy for Covista's Impact function, ensuring our impact story is embedded across all channels, audiences and business touchpoints.
Serve as the primary connector between Impact and Corporate Affairs partners -- including alumni relations, government relations, investor relations, public affairs and communications -- to ensure Impact is consistently and compellingly represented and woven into internal and external efforts.
Build and maintain the narrative architecture for Covista Open Doors and the Covista Foundation, translating strategy into stories that resonate with internal and external stakeholders.
Drive the strategy and execution of internal communications and storytelling for the enterprise impact strategy, programs and partnerships, and for the Covista Foundation, in partnership with the internal communications leader.
Lead the development of impact-centered content and materials across a broad range of formats -- from event programming, fundraising appeals, annual Impact reports, leadership briefings, digital content and more.
Drive institution enablement by equipping Covista leaders with the tools, messaging and resources to bring our Impact efforts to life in their own contexts.
Manage & advance key aspects of our Impact strategy, spanning program development, partnership management and overall evolution.
Identify and develop new partnership opportunities that advance and amplify Covista's Impact strategy and desired outcomes.
Design and execute engagement programming -- including events, campaigns and internal initiatives -- that deepen stakeholder connection to Covista's impact work, from employee engagement to government relations and alumni events
Work in close collaboration with the Impact team to ensure alignment across impact strategy, storytelling and engagement in all facets of work.
Provide regular reporting to leadership on engagement progress, milestones, and audience reach.
Manage and provide strategic direction and guidance to Impact team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent experience Required.
Seven (7) plus years in social impact, strategy, communications and stakeholder engagement or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise in social impact -- strategy, sustainability, philanthropy and community engagement.
Proven communications experience -- developing and executing internal communications strategies that translate complex work into clear, compelling narratives across formats and audiences.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to engage and inspire diverse internal audiences.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and influence without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Experience managing or mentoring team members, with the ability to lead others as the function grows.
Flexible and action-oriented, with sound judgment and the ability to anticipate needs and adapt to shifting priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with content management or employee engagement platforms a plus.
