About Our Families
This is a unique and meaningful opportunity to support two close-knit neighboring families who share deep personal bonds and are looking for one exceptional person to become part of both of their households.
The first family is a busy, active household with two school-age children and a warm, welcoming energy. The household runs on a divide-and-conquer rhythm — one parent is deeply involved in school life and community activities, while the other keeps demanding professional hours outside the home. Days are full and fragmented, filled with school commitments, volunteer work, and evening activities that run late. There is a lot of love in this home, but the daily to-do list has become a weight. They are ready to hand that weight to someone else.
The second family, neighbors just across the street, is navigating an incredibly difficult season with courage, grace, and remarkable positivity. Mom is currently undergoing treatment for a serious illness and has put enormous energy into maintaining normalcy for her three children, staying active, and controlling what she can. The family's priority right now is health, connection, and keeping life moving forward — not laundry piles. They need someone to step in with positivity and energy to handle the daily details so the family can focus on what matters most.
Both households run back and forth between each other naturally — this isn't a formal arrangement, it's a community. The right person will feel that and lean into it.
Each home has beloved dogs, and comfort around pets is a must. One family’s dog has a shy personality but occasionally needs to be crated during visits. The other family has a young, energetic pup still in the puppy stage and a senior dog.
Both families already have a wonderful long-term housekeeper who handles deep cleaning and will continue to do so. This role is about everything else — the daily flow, the anticipation, the organization, and the love.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are warm, confident, and deeply capable. You walk into a home, read the room, and get to work — not because someone asked you to, but because you already saw what needed to happen. You don't need a task list handed to you each morning. You notice the drawer that hasn't been organized in months, the pantry that's running low, the laundry that needs to be hung to dry, and the backpack that needs to be packed for tomorrow. You take care of it.
You bring genuine warmth and the ability to connect with families on a human level — not as a vendor, but as someone who cares. You are the kind of person who can hold space for a difficult season without making it heavier. You communicate with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude and bring steady, grounded energy into a home.
You have real life experience behind you and the emotional intelligence to match. You're flexible, proactive without being presumptuous, and confident enough to reorganize a kitchen drawer without asking for permission.
Most of all, you are someone who takes pride in making a meaningful impact for families they work with. If this sounds like you, we’d love for you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Laundry & Linens
Manage all laundry for both households: wash, fold, hang dry as needed, stain treat, and put away
Monitor and follow care instructions closely, particularly for athletic and delicate garments
Maintain tidy, well-stocked laundry areas
Put away linens after housekeeper washes and makes beds
Household Organization & Maintenance
Create and maintain household organization systems across both homes — reorganizing where systems aren't working, no permission required
Daily tidying: dishes, surfaces, loading and unloading dishwasher, vacuuming high-traffic areas
Daily resets and preparing home for housekeeper visits
Seasonal clothing, decor, and bedding swaps
Coordinate and prepare donation drop-offs
Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors as needed
Maintain tidy outdoor spaces including patios; sweep regularly
Inventory & Errands
Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies for both homes
Manage running household supply lists and know when things are running low
Handle online orders as needed; open to establishing household subscriptions
Returns, dry cleaning drop-off and pickup, gift shopping as needed
Mail and package handling: put away where it belongs, break down boxes
Monitor and maintain pet food supply for both households
Meal Support
Family One: Follow family's weekly meal plan (up to 4 dinners/week for a family of 4); handle grocery shopping and pickup, process and prep produce, organize kitchen when putting groceries away, chop vegetables and prep ingredients so meals can be executed quickly in the evening
Family Two: Take kids' meals fully off the family's plate — up to 4 dinners per week for the children, pack school lunches, and ensure kid staples (fruit, bread, snacks) are always stocked; particularly critical during treatment weeks. Note: the parent's personal dietary needs are managed privately by the family and are not part of this role
Kitchen clean-up and maintenance for both households
Family Support
Prep backpacks, clothing, and snacks for the children in the second household
Kid-related errands for both families as needed
Over time, as trust builds: occasional transportation and light supervision
Maintain awareness of both families' household and school schedules; serve as a second set of eyes to make sure nothing falls through the cracks (school spirit days, permission slips, upcoming events)
Be present and available when service providers or repair people need access to either home
Deep Cleaning & Special Projects
Partner on larger organizational projects: children's rooms, closets, playroom, art supplies
Occasional light deep-cleaning tasks (fridge, baseboards) or delegation to housekeeper as appropriate
Assist with seasonal event and guest preparation as needed

Already have support but need better systems? Our Home Systems Digital Course shows you how to run your household like a well-oiled business—with routines, processes, and shared responsibilities that take the pressure off your plate.
To date, we’ve supported over 3,000 families, placed dozens of household employees and and been featured in TODAY.com, Forbes, and Thrive Global.
