Position Summary
The Youth Housing Program provides Community Group Care for youth aged 13–17 with complex needs, offering trauma-informed, developmentally responsive, and therapeutic care in a safe and supportive home environment.
As the Overnight Lead, you will support the safety, well-being, and development of youth through individualized care, relationship-based practice, and case management. Working collaboratively with each youth's Care Team, you will foster their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being while ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive home environment. The Overnight Lead provides day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to Support Workers, helping ensure quality service delivery, operational consistency, and the successful completion of overnight responsibilities.
Schedule
4 days on 2 days off rotation; 11:30PM – 8:00AM
This is a shift working position and schedule may vary according to program needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the safety, well-being, and development of youth by promoting individualized care, healthy routines, and trauma-informed, relationship-based practices.
Build trusting relationships with youth using active listening, strengths-based approaches, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques to promote safety and positive outcomes.
Guide Youth Workers and Support Workers in implementing individualized care plans, case management strategies, and goal-oriented supports for youth.
Oversee the delivery of direct care, including wellness checks, medication administration, daily routines, and interventions that promote physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained home environment by overseeing household operations, safety inspections, inventory, documentation, and compliance with licensing, accreditation, and occupational health and safety standards.
Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, supervision, and performance feedback to Support Workers while fostering a collaborative, trauma-informed team environment.
Coordinate staff assignments, monitor training requirements, and support employee development to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Oversee critical incident reporting, documentation, follow-up actions, and quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Participate in the on-call rotation, providing leadership and after-hours support during crises, staff absences, and other operational needs.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with families, natural supports, community partners, and the multidisciplinary care team to promote positive outcomes for youth.
Qualifications
Education
Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC), Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
Certification
Standard First Aid and CPR.
Suicide Intervention
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle
Proof of vehicle insurance (min. $2 million liability), registration and 3-year drivers abstract.

Experience
3+ years’ experience supporting marginalized youth and vulnerable populations
1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience, including employee supervision, coaching, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Knowledge and experience in harm reduction, trauma-informed, resiliency, and solution-focused practices.
Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, capable of remaining calm in high-pressure situations.
Experience supporting youth facing complex barriers, including mental health, substance use, poverty, trauma, LGBTQ2S+ identities, and newcomer/refugee experiences
Proficient in MS Office and database applications.
