Responsibilities
The Cardiology Technologist is responsible for performing various cardiac diagnostic tests including ECGs, stress testing, and Holter monitoring while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality. They also manage equipment maintenance, quality control assessments, and assist with intravenous treatments and pharmacological interventions under clinical supervision.
Requirements
Candidates must have completed a Cardiology program recognized by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists and hold current CSCT certification. A current CPR certificate and the ability to work both independently and within a team are also required.

• Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to testing while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Performs all cardiac testing techniques including Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter scanning, Holter monitoring and ambulatory BP monitoring as per compliance Company’s P&P manual guidelines.
• Responsible for inserting various types of intravenous lines and monitoring the IV treatments to watch for complications as required.
•Performs Nuclear stress testing on treadmill as well as using pharmacological interventions including Persantine (Dipyridamole), dobutamine, adenosine, etc. as well as administering aminophylline as required under clinical supervision and delegated workflow.
• Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required.
• Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
• Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
• Prepares reports as required.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Completion of a Cardiology program recognized by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists.
• Current certification with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists and eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT).
• Current CPR certificate.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This role is for an existing vacancy. The expected hiring range for this role is from $30 - $31 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience level, and internal equity. Candidates with significantly more experience may be considered at a higher level with adjusted compensation for certain roles.
