Description of Work
A successful candidate for this Senior Regional Maintenance Technician (Maintenance/Construction Technician IV) position will work in the Raleigh Satellite Maintenance Yard (RSMY) preventative maintenance team performing preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance work orders at responsible institutions (OSDT Apex, Randall Building, 840 W Morgan Street Building, and Wake CC) and assisting Institutional Maintenance at supporting institutions (Central Prison, NCCIW, Granville CI, and Harnett CI). This position shall have journeyman level experience within 2 or more engineering construction trades (general, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and electronics) but with a specific focus in the electrical trade.
The Senior Regional Maintenance Technician will also assist other teams within the Raleigh Satellite Maintenance Yard (RSMY) when needed, to include but not limited to, the Metal Fabrication Team, Special Projects Team, and Electronics Systems Team. This position may also be tasked with assisting other Regional Maintenance Yards or working with the DECM Construction team on larger construction projects when required.
Key Duties Includes:
•Demonstrated experience in two or more journeyman level construction trade skills within concrete, masonry, carpentry, site work, painting, finishes, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and/or equipment operation; with a specific focus in the electrical and/or electronics trades.
•Demonstrated experience in the installation of primary and secondary electrical conduit and circuitry for electrical distribution systems.
•Demonstrated experience with standard testing equipment to diagnose electrical components.
•Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and/or National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
•Experience with the tools, methods, practices, materials, and equipment used within the general construction trades relating to the maintenance of buildings.
•Experience with reading schematics and blueprints.

Salary Grade Range: $45,431.00-$79,504.00

Work Location and Schedule
This position has a duty station at the Raleigh Satellite Maintenance Yard in Raleigh, NC. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:0 0pm and may require some weekend work and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization
About the Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM)
Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) operates as the NCDAC Capital Project Coordinator (CPC) and tasked with coordinating all capital improvement and renovation and repair projects with the State Construction Office (SCO) and serves as the DAC representative on all matters involving the State Property Office and State Building Commission. Our unified purpose is to provide architectural and engineering support, sustainability, efficiency, and resiliency planning, construction, and maintenance services to ensure all statewide Institutions and Facilities remain in compliance with building codes, regulations, and legislative mandates, while also promoting the agency’s rehabilitation and reentry goals through offender job training within the construction and maintenance trades, while assisting institutions directly and indirectly with the installation and maintenance of kitchen, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and electronics equipment.
The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for an energized and collaborative oriented Senior Regional Maintenance Technician (Maintenance/Construction Technician IV) to be a part of the DECM Maintenance Operations, Raleigh Satellite Maintenance Yard Team in Raleigh, NC. This position reports to the Preventative Maintenance Team Regional Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for performing preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on building systems.
