Minimum of 5 years of steel/construction supervision experience, including general building construction experience in all trade areas (Building, Construction and Architectural),
Five (5) or more years' experience under a state-licensed builder/contractor.
Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements related to construction.
Knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
Knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
Effective written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Project Management software (e.g., MS Project).
Scaffolding Certification.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Bilingual (preferred).
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the oversight and direction of various construction projects from conception to completion.
Ensure construction projects comply with building and safety regulations.
Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
Meet contractual conditions of performance.
Monitor daily work progress to evaluate progress to scheduling deliverables; make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
Anticipate delays and hindrances to project completion and make recommendations for prompt resolution/remediation.
Supervise construction workers including recruiting, hiring, scheduling, evaluating and administering disciplinary action, as necessary.
Coordinate work of subcontractors to ensure efficient staffing on projects and reassigning such resources, as needed.
Prepare and/or maintain project documentation, including project deliverables, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
Generate regular progress reports and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Ensure all project-related documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
Organize and participate in project meetings, including preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking action items.
Manage the selection of tools, materials and equipment and monitor inventory.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field or;
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 10 years of experience in advanced skills training in supervising, electrical, plumbing and other building trades areas.
Testing:
Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.
Physical Requirements:
Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 80 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
