Position: Employee Engagement Specialist
Department: People
Reports to: Sr. Manager, People
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Employee Engagement Specialist is responsible for the execution of employee communication & engagement supports the implementation of learning and development initiatives. This position will also work with the Sr. Manager, People on strategies to maximize engagement and retention of staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned as required)
Leads the creation & execution of new, original, and cost-effective annual initiatives for employee engagement to promote the company’s culture, vision and values.
Works with operational departments on developing and executing PT employee communication and learning bites using tools such as the Event Staff blog, event briefings, posters, etc.
Manages and oversees the employee PT & FT recognition programs
Strategizes creative and innovative ways to retain FT & PT staff.
Organizes employee events, including but not limited to All Staff meetings, holiday events, recognition events and company outings
Manages and maintains CSE’s online learning tool ensuring up-to-date content and efficient learning process
Coordinates and tracks CSE’s performance review processes
Creates engaging content for employee communication to be delivered through various mediums (e.g. break room displays, newsletters, employee blog/intranet etc.)
Leads new hire orientation programs for FT and PT staff, keeping both current and inspiring
Leads the job shadow program (or similar programs) for FT staff, ensuring that it is fun, engaging and informative.
Assists and where applicable, leads the planning and execution of employee learning sessions for FT and PT staff
Delivers orientation and training sessions, as required, for new and existing staff
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
A diploma/degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
A creative, proactive People professional with preference given to those with coordinating engagement activities and/or events
Experience delivering, and managing various training initiatives and/or programs, is an asset
Experience using various tools, techniques, and mediums in the delivery of training and communication
A team player with a passion for employee engagement and a strong client service focus
Solid interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with diverse demographic of employees
A proactive self-starter who puts thought, creativity, and ingenuity into work assignments
Strong attention to detail
Approaches problem solving in a practical, client-centered manner
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively and efficiently manage and keep multiple projects on task
Strong computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Windows-based software applications and MS Office and demonstrated experience using creative design software
Highly flexible to work during event times, as required
