The departmental assistant supports undergraduate laboratory instruction through the design, delivery, and supervision of laboratory programs and field activities. They also oversee laboratory operations, safety programs, and provide advanced technical support for research and testing services.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, with a master's degree preferred, and have at least two years of professional experience in laboratory instruction and fieldwork. Proficiency in engineering software and mechanical/construction skills is required, along with strong organizational and safety-focused judgment.
The departmental assistant supports undergraduate laboratory instruction in the department through the design, delivery, and supervision of laboratory programs. This position oversees laboratory operations, resources, and facilities while contributing to curriculum delivery. Instructional coverage in academic courses may also be provided given the candidate’s background. The assistant supports faculty and students through advanced technical involvement related to undergraduate and graduate research, fieldwork, and full-scale testing activities. The assistant supports departmental committees focused on occupational health and safety. Additionally, the person in this role participates in the planning, construction, and operation of laboratory and field equipment used for teaching, research, and external testing services. The assistant engages with industry to deliver specialized laboratory testing services that support academic programming and collaborative initiatives. Summary:

Continuing Medical Education (CME) is a division within the College of Medicine with the University of Saskatchewan. CME is a leader in enhancing the patient's quality of health through its innovative educational opportunities in lifelong learning. CME offers continued learning through online courses, virtual and in-person conferences, and partnered programs. CME also provides event services to assist with the planning and organization of events. Event Accreditation helps organizing committees stay on track with all the elements required by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the College of Family Physicians of Canada for an event to be claimed for study credits by your learners. The Division of CME is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME). As such we can help you accredit your event for specialists for the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program and for Family Physicians though the Mainpro+ program.
