The LPN is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing total nursing care for assigned patients, including clinical tasks like vitals, injections, and blood draws. They also maintain accurate clinical documentation, manage lab functions, and provide patient education while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
Candidates must hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions and possess current CPR/BLS certification. Previous nursing experience is required, and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Overview
Works under the supervision of the office manager, RN or clinical lead, and the physicians. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating total nursing care of assigned patients. The LPN may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Medical Group providing hands-on clinical care to include manual vitals, medication review, injections and blood draw. The LPN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. The LPN may be responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of specific patient populations served in their assigned unit/dept. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.
