Final Quality Control (FQC) Inspector – PPE Manufacturing
Position Summary
The Final Quality Control (FQC) Inspector is responsible for performing final inspection and release activities for finished Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) products prior to shipment. This position ensures products meet established quality requirements, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards. The FQC Inspector serves as the final verification point before product release and works closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams to ensure only conforming product is shipped to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform final inspection of finished PPE products to verify conformance to approved specifications, drawings, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
Review manufacturing documentation, inspection records, and production travelers for completeness and accuracy prior to product release.
Verify product labeling, packaging, lot traceability, serialization (where applicable), and required customer documentation.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections utilizing approved inspection methods and measuring equipment.
Perform sampling inspections in accordance with established inspection plans and acceptance criteria.
Document inspection results within company quality systems, including Salesforce, Rootstock, inspection forms, and electronic records as required.
Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming product in accordance with company procedures.
Initiate nonconformance reports and communicate quality issues to Quality Engineering, Production, and Management.
Verify completion of required rework activities and perform re-inspection of corrected product.
Support investigations involving customer complaints, returns, RMAs, and quality concerns when requested.
Assist with inventory disposition activities involving quarantine, hold, release, and scrap decisions.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, improving inspection effectiveness, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as required.
Maintain compliance with all applicable quality system requirements, safety procedures, and company policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum two years of manufacturing inspection experience preferred.
Experience inspecting sewn products, PPE, medical devices, garments, textiles, or industrial products preferred.
Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, work instructions, and inspection procedures.
Experience using inspection and measuring equipment including rulers, tape measures, calipers, scales, and other inspection tools.
Working knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing documentation.
Experience using ERP and quality management software systems preferred.
Experience with Salesforce and Rootstock is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform inspections for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 30 pounds.
Visual acuity sufficient to identify product defects, workmanship issues, and labeling discrepancies.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Reporting Structure
Reports To: Quality Supervisor or Director of Quality
Works Closely With: Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Operators, Warehouse Personnel, Quality Engineers, Customer Service, and Regulatory Affairs personnel.
