Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
This position is with the Crane Engineering and Quality Engineering group overseeing certification and repairs of bridge, gantry, whirler, and mobile cranes. The primary responsibility will be developing and issuing technical directions after thorough on-site troubleshooting and evaluations. Some circuit design may be required. Individual will be required to work closely with maintenance departments. This position requires occasional on-call duty, infrequent shift rotation, or weekend work as determined by the program
Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 12 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 9 years of experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
