The Role
We are seeking an engineer to provide technical and program‑office support for the development and fielding of Navy combat systems, including Command & Control, Exterior Communications, Electronic Warfare, Radar, Weapons, Aviation, and other miscellaneous systems.
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of shipboard cabling—multi‑conductor, coaxial, and semi‑rigid coaxial types—and familiarity with the associated shipboard connectors, backshells, and adapters.
Key responsibilities include:
Support Ford‑class carrier modernization – assist in gathering and evaluating technical data for existing combat systems, track new or enhanced capabilities, and work with Engineering, Design, Planning, and Construction teams to implement design changes.
Ship Change and contract documentation – help develop and review Ship Change Documents and other contract modifications, preparing supporting material for cost estimates.
Detail‑design engineering products – contribute to the creation and review of block‑cabling diagrams, wiring tables, and ship arrangement drawings, and provide technical input to ship construction and testing activities.
The incumbent will work with other more senior level engineers and coordinate with Navy, NNS engineering and trades to deliver direct system‑engineering support.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
