The Coding Specialist is responsible for assigning accurate ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes to patient charts and medical records. They must coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure all diagnostic information is correctly recorded and maintained.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, a CPC certification, and at least one year of medical coding experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems is required.
Coding Specialist
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute – Oregon’s largest private oncology practice and a member of the US Oncology network – is looking for a Coding Specialist to join the team. Under direct supervision, this individual will perform all medical record coding activities and Assign appropriate diagnostic codes to patient charts and reports.This role will also support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $21 - $46.71. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.
