About the Role  
 

Our Risk and Investigations practice, as part of the broader Forensic Litigation & Consulting segment, conducts sophisticated research and investigations, uncovers actionable intelligence and performs value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, remediate compliance, and make informed decisions regarding their investments.  

Our experts conduct independent investigations to help clients resolve a variety of issues, including:  

• Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions  

• Transactional intelligence  

• Market entry and competitor intelligence  

• Corporate investigations, including fraud and misconduct investigations  

• Anti-bribery and foreign corruption (FCPA / UK Bribery Act) investigations and risk assessments  

• Asset searching  

• Political risk assessments  

What You’ll Do  

Reporting to the Senior Managing Director and based in either Sydney or Melbourne, your responsibilities will include:  

• Research and analysis of information from public-domain sources and field inquiries to support due diligence assignments, business intelligence projects and other types of investigations  

• Evaluation of information and information sources for accuracy, reliability and relevance in assessing risk  

• Contribute to the provision of advice on how to mitigate risk 

• Creation of research reports, presentations and where needed link charts or similar diagrams to record investigative actions and findings  

• Proactive identification of new sources of information, and research tools and approaches as well as managing of these resources to achieve high quality and cost-effectiveness

What You Will Need to Succeed

• A keen interest in research and due diligence work  

• Experience in conducting research and/or investigation work  

• Broad professional experience, including prior international work experience or international travel or experience working as part of a global dispersed team would be advantageous  

• Demonstrated resourceful and a self-starter, with experience of operating in fast paced and dynamic operational settings  

• Excellent English language writing skill  

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or higher 

• 2 - 4 years’ experience in a similar position would be an advantage  

• This role may require travel to client and FTI offices
