About the role
As aDiversity,Equityand Inclusion (DEI) Specialistyou will play a pivotal role in advancing inclusive andequitableservice delivery across The Salvation Army's Social and Community Mission (SCM). Through your specialistexpertise, leadership, and advocacy, you will help remove barriers and create meaningful opportunities for people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, ensuring our services are accessible, respectful, and responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.
Reporting to theHead of Social and Community Mission, this is apermanent part-timehybrid role, 19 hours per week.We offer flexible location options for this role, with the successful candidate able to be based at either our Territorial Support Office in Blackburn, VIC, or our Territorial Headquarters in Redfern, NSW.

Lead the implementation of Diversity,Equityand Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, driving the delivery of quality improvement and workforce development priorities across Social and Community Mission
Embed inclusive practice through the development of resources, specialist guidance, data-informed monitoring, and Communities of Practice that enhance service delivery and workforce capability
Build andmaintainstrategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and strengthening engagement across the DEI sector
Support workforce inclusion by developing initiatives that enhance the experience, engagement, and sense of belonging of employees from historically underrepresented groups
Coordinate and promote participation in key diversity and inclusion events, while advocating forequitableoutcomes and continuous improvement across services and programs
What you will bring
Tertiary degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, CommunityDevelopmentor related fieldor
Demonstratedcommensuratelevel of sector knowledge throughpreviousappointments and professional development
At least 5 years’ experience in a community services roleDemonstrated ability to influence and build strong stakeholder relationships, with experience fostering collaboration, navigating complex discussions, and driving positive outcomes across diverse groups and perspectives
Proven capability to lead change, innovation, and continuous improvement, with the ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that strengthen inclusive practices, enhance service delivery, and achieve organisational goals
