Summary
The Specimen Collector will be the main link between GeneID Laboratory and our patients in Long Term Care Facilities. The Specimen Collector will collect, process, and ship specimens from residents and staff members to be received exclusively by GeneID Laboratories.
Responsibilities
· Perform specimen collections (Mouth swab) at Long Term Care Facilities. Willing to drive long distance to different facilities, up to 4 hours away.
· Ensure completeness and accuracy of labeling on all specimens
· Process, package, and ship specimens to assure specimen viability and quality analysis.
· Operate and maintain equipment associated with GeneID Laboratories as necessary.
· Follow GeneID PPE and sanitization protocol
· Maintain appropriate levels of supplies necessary for the collection and processing of specimens
· Identify and convey to management any potential issues that could interfere with the company's ability to provide services and provide feedback that could improve the company's quality of service.
· Maintain all personal licensure and training requirements as applicable.
Qualifications
· Associate's degree in a life sciences (i.e. Medical Assistant) or related field OR a 4-year bachelor's degree in hospitality, communication, nursing, life sciences or related field required
· Drivers license required
· Comfortable with handling and trouble-shooting technology on site, with assistance from remote IT Support technician
· Confident with client relationships as it pertains to on site set up and logistics

Our testing searches for DNA mutations known to contribute to the development of certain Solid Tumor Cancers which make up approximately 800,000 new cases per year.(Breast, Ovarian, Colon, Prostate, Pancreas, Stomach, Uterine, and Skin Cancers) so that a Preventative plan can be put in place to reduce cancer risk. Additionally, GeneID specializes in Carrier Testing, which can help prospective parents reduce the risk of having a child born with a devastating hereditary disease associated with a shortened life span and poor quality of life such as Cystic Fibrosis, Sickle Cell Anemia, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and about 60 other childhood diseases. GeneID's Scientific team is led by an OB/GYN, Geneticist who spent 7 years working on the Human Genome Project,. specifically on the BRCA 1 and 2 genes. GeneID has been recognized by the College of American Pathology as "Model for other Molecular Laboratories" due to the unique testing and quality measures incorporated into our testing process, resulting in the highest level of test accuracy.
