The Facilities Engineer performs complex installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of various hospital systems including boilers, electrical distribution, and patient care equipment. The role also involves ordering necessary parts and ensuring all assigned work is completed effectively.
Candidates must have 4 years of experience and obtain a National Boiler Operator Grade I or II license within 3 years of hire. An Associate's Degree in Electronics is preferred but not required.
Performs various activities of complex nature such as the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of boilers, hydronic boilers, boiler auxiliaries, diesel generators, electrical distribution and controls, pneumatic tube system, sterilizers, laundry equipment, facilities equipment, pumps, compressors, air handling equipment, chillers, refrigeration systems, nurse call system, patient care equipment (i.e., electric/hydraulic beds, surgery tables, stretchers, wheelchairs and other related equipment), kitchen equipment, automatic doors, fire alarm systems, snow removal equipment and hospital vehicles (trucks, cars, front-end loaders, lawn mowers and sweepers). Orders parts as needed. Responsible for all work as assigned.
