About Feeding Northeast Florida:
Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL) is the region’s largest nonprofit (501c3) food bank and hunger relief network. FNEFL provides nutritious foods and other essential goods to those in need and strives to improve the quality of life for people living in and around Northeast and North Central Florida by addressing food insecurity, poverty and poor health. Alongside out network of food distribution, agency and community partners, the Food Bank provides food resources and hope to help all people living in our 12-county service area (Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Levy, Nassau, Putnam, St. John’s and Union) who struggle to feed themselves and their families. Feeding Northeast Florida works daily to find solutions to address the issues of food insecurity and poverty through awareness, advocacy, education, and action in ways that promote dignity, respect and empowerment. For more information, visit www.feedingnefl.org
Position Summary:
Senior Manager of Partner Capacity Initiatives leads the food bank's efforts to strengthen, grow, and support its network of partner agencies. This role serves as a strategic connector between the food bank and its partners, with a particular emphasis on rural and underserved communities where access to resources and organizational infrastructure can be most limited.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Capacity Building & Partner Development
Conduct in-depth capacity assessments with partner agencies to identify organizational strengths, gaps, and opportunities for growth across operation, food safety & storage, data practices, and community engagement.
Provide training, technical assistance, and peer learning opportunities tailored to the needs of partner agencies at varying stages of organizational development.
Develop and maintain a tiered support framework that matches partner agencies with the right level and type of resources — from one-on-one coaching to cohort-based programs and self-directed tools.
Track and report on partner progress over time, using data to measure impact and refine capacity-building strategies.
Rural Community Focus
Serve as an advocate for partner agencies in rural and underserved communities, understanding the unique logistical, demographic, and resource challenges they face.
Develop targeted outreach and engagement strategies to deepen relationships with existing rural partner agencies and identify underserved communities where new partnerships could expand food access.
Facilitate connections between rural partner agencies and transportation, storage, or distribution solutions that address food access challenges.
Build knowledge of rural community settings — including agricultural cycles, transportation barriers, cultural considerations, and local economy & workforce limitations — to inform contextually appropriate programming.
Gap Analysis & Network Strategy
Conduct regular geographic and demographic analysis to identify communities and populations with insufficient access to food assistance through the partner agency network.
Develop recommendations for expanding the partner agency network into identified gap areas, including strategies for recruiting new partner organizations.
Collaborate with the Director of Partnerships & Programs to incorporate gap analysis findings into the food bank's broader strategic planning and resource allocation decisions.
Monitor trends in community need, partner agency capacity, and food insecurity data to proactively address emerging issues and opportunities.
Community Relations & Partnership Management
Serve as a resource and advocate for partner agencies navigating food bank policies, compliance requirements, or operational challenges.
Support Partnerships & Programs Managers with onboarding of new partner agencies, including orientation, training, and early-stage relationship development.
Represent the food bank at community meetings, coalition tables, and partner events across the service area.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, public health, community development, or a related field.
Outstanding outreach, organization, compliance, and customer service skills.
Experience designing or facilitating training and technical assistance programs for adult learners or nonprofit organizations.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record; access to dependable transportation with the ability to travel throughout indicated territory on a regular basis, including rural communities with limited infrastructure.
Ability to set own priorities and work independently. Position will require in-office and remote work availability.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Intermediate Microsoft office programs and computer skills, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and data visualizing platforms like Tableau and/or Power BI.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, public health, community development, or a related field.
At least 3-year related experience in nonprofit capacity building, community organizing, program management, or agency/partner relations.
Experience working with community based, nonprofit organizations.
Work Environment:
This position is in an office/warehouse environment and requires a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate FNEFL events. Work is performed indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to all weather conditions. In instances of a federal, state, or local declared emergency, FNEFL is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties.
Physical Demands:
The ability to perform the following physical activities are necessary in the performance of this job: Sit and use a computer for long periods of time; use a computer to accomplish the duties of the position (including typing and seeing); read and write in English; think strategically, communicate expectations, and establish priorities. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. The above job description is not an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, and skills of the position. Incumbents will follow any other instructions and perform other related duties assigned by their supervisor.
Feeding Northeast Florida helps local children and families, seniors and veterans who struggle to put food on the table. Working with local grocery stores, manufacturers and farms, we rescue high-quality food that would normally be wasted and transform it into meals for those in need.
We connect that food to more than 160 partners and programs within our hunger network, like City Rescue Mission, The Sulzbacher Center and The Salvation Army. These partners are able to provide not only food to those in need, but services that can help these families and individuals end the cycle of poverty, including job training or placement, low-cost childcare, SNAP benefits, medical care, affordable housing and counseling.
In 2018, Feeding Northeast Florida distributed more than 14 million meals across our eight-county service area.
Feeding Northeast Florida is Your Community Food Bank. With your help and support, we can make sure one of the basic needs shared by all of us is met every day.
