Full job description
RWE Americas, LLC To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent
Functional area: IT / Digital; Corporate Development / Strategy; Process Management; Project Development; Project Management Remuneration: Exempt
The Senior Manager, Development Data Analytics is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for shaping how data drives decision-making across the renewable energy development organization. This role owns the analytical view of the development pipeline, delivers executive-level reporting and dashboards, and serves as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership. The position establishes data standards and governance practices, leads cross-functional analytics initiatives, and champions the adoption of AI and emerging analytics technologies to advance the organization’s data culture and business outcomes.
Role Responsibilities:
Owns the analytical view of the development pipeline by assessing portfolio health, forecasting performance against business objectives, and proactively identifying risks across the project lifecycle, enabling leadership to make data-informed decisions with confidence
Builds and maintains executive-level Power BI dashboards by designing complex data models, writing advanced DAX measures, and creating intuitive visualizations that drive decisions at every level of the organization, from project teams to the C-suite
Serves as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership by translating complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations that directly influence business strategy and real operational outcomes across the development organization
Establishes and champions data standards and governance practices across the development organization by defining data ownership, documentation requirements, and quality controls, thereby reducing redundancy and improving data accessibility for all stakeholders
Works cross-functionally across business units to unlock the value of data residing outside the core Salesforce platform by identifying integration opportunities, evaluating analytical use cases, and building bridges between disparate data sources to create a more complete view of the business
Leverages and leads the adoption of AI tools and emerging analytics technologies by evaluating new capabilities, piloting practical innovations, and coaching team members on how to integrate these tools into day-to-day workflows to improve productivity and analytical depth
Defines how the development organization measures success by designing KPI frameworks, establishing reporting cadences, and shaping data culture from the ground up, ensuring that performance measurement is consistent, meaningful, and aligned to business objectives
Communicates complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences by preparing executive presentations, written summaries, and live briefings that convey data-driven insights with clarity and narrative structure appropriate for senior and C-suite stakeholders
Evaluates and improves data processes by identifying inefficiencies, redundancies, and gaps in existing workflows, then designing and implementing process improvements that increase data quality, reduce manual effort, and enable more reliable and timely reporting
Partners with development teams to understand business context and project-level data needs by conducting discovery sessions, translating operational questions into analytical requirements, and delivering insights that reflect a deep understanding of how renewable energy development pipelines function and what drives project success or failure
Job Requirements and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; advanced degree a plus
Minimum 10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or strategy, with meaningful exposure to renewable energy development (solar, wind, storage, or related)
Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions at a senior or executive level through data-driven insights
Hands-on experience with Salesforce as a data source and familiarity with cross-platform data integration challenges
Experience developing or contributing to data governance frameworks and process improvement initiatives strongly preferred
Advanced Power BI skills, including complex data modeling, DAX, and dashboard design for executive audiences
Strong business acumen with a working understanding of how development pipelines function and what leaders need to make confident decisions
Excellent communication and data storytelling skills; equally comfortable in technical discussions and executive presentations
Early adopter mindset with curiosity about AI, eagerness to experiment with new tools, and ability to separate signal from hype
Hands-on experience with Salesforce as a data source and familiarity with cross-platform data integration challenges
Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
