Full job description

Why we exist:

Swarmer develops software that makes drones autonomous and allows them to operate together, in large, coordinated teams — no pilots needed. Our technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine— the world’s most intense proving ground for drone warfare.

In March 2026, we became the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a $15M Series A —one of the largest investments in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the start of the war.

Working at Swarmer means operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. The problems and environments are complex, and the stakes are very real. We built this software to enable democratic nations to defend themselves.

If you are motivated by building resilient systems that matter and by seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll find purpose here.

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for an agile Employee Communications Specialist to ensure our growing global employee base stays informed about company policies, product updates, major milestones and special events. You’ll be an integral part of the Communications and Marketing Team and will be very closely aligned with the Director of HR to produce written and multimedia products for our most important audience – Swarmer’s employees. The focus of this role is to ensure our global workforce stays engaged and committed to the Swarmer mission, while also helping to attract and retain the best talent in the defense space.

This is an ideal role for someone who is an enthusiastic self-starter, produces high-quality work, is a strategic thinker, and is able to pivot quickly from assignment to assignment. The ideal candidate will serve as the “glue” that holds our employee base together, noting that we have offices in several different countries. As a result, a deep understanding of Ukrainian, European and U.S. cultures and flexibility across several time zones is critical to the success of this candidate.

What you’ll do:

1. Internal Communications

  • Stay closely aligned with the VP of Communications to ensure strategic messaging is crafted and shared to our growing employee base.

  • Directly support our HR Director by writing announcements or articles for policy updates, company milestones, as well as creating content for all-employee meetings, surveys, personality features and social media.

  • Develop a visually engaging monthly newsletter with our Graphics Team that consolidates these newsworthy items and is shared across the company.

2. Employee Relations

  • This role will help serve as an advocate for our employees and provide two-way communications to help ensure messages are being received and alert leadership of potential story opportunities or communication gaps.

  • Writing, delivering and creating an executive summary of survey results following special events.

  • Coordinating production of all-employee meetings, to include development of slide deck content, Q&A prep, recognition letters and awards, and follow-up surveys.

What we need:

  • Experience: 4+ years of Communications experience, with at least 2 years of dedicated employee communications experience.

  • Core areas of expertise: Strong working knowledge of HR functions and employee engagement. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to create a variety of high quality media products such as short form website articles, newsletters, Town Hall slide decks, employee handouts, social media posts, and proof-reading assignments.

  • Language Skills: Fluent English and Ukrainian, Polish is a plus. Translation on written materials will be very helpful to us.

  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively with a dynamic Corporate Communications team, sharing knowledge, and able to coordinate effectively between functions.

  • Working style: High attention to detail, proactivity, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment, without constant supervision.

What would be an advantage:

  • Relevant employee communications experience with Ukrainian, US, and EU companies particularly in the defense or high tech sector.

  • Exposure to Corporate Communications in an international growth-stage company.

  • Understanding of the defense industry, drone and AI tech, dual-use regulations, or other highly regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with a variety of tools such as Google Workspace, Figma, Asana, Slido, Slack, and various HR platforms etc.

What you’ll get:

  • The opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven company operating in a high-impact and strategically important sector.

  • The chance to be a member of a world class Communications Team that is very proactive with strategic messaging and creating engaging content.

  • A remote-first setup with the option to work from our hubs in Kyiv or Warsaw.

  • Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Professional growth in a company scaling internationally and building strong Corporate Communications practices in a public-company environment.

How the hiring process works:

✔️ Recruiter Screen → ✔️ Interview with Public Affairs Manager → ✔️ Interview with HR Director → ✔️ Final interview with VP of Comms & Marketing → ✔️ Offer

Please note that, as a leading defense tech company, we take operations security seriously and may need to perform additional background checks as part of our hiring process. We will do so in accordance with all applicable EU & US laws and regulations and safeguard your data in the process.
