Oversee rail and yard operations for customer vehicle loading and unloading while managing direct reports to ensure safety and efficiency. Interface with rail crews and regulatory bodies to maintain compliance with AAR standards and company policies.
Requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in extreme weather conditions at heights. Preferred candidates have experience in rail preparation and supervisory experience within a logistics or manufacturing environment.
Summary
The Operations Supervisor for Rail must interface with the Assistant Rail Supervisor, Operations Manager, yard crew, representatives of the Association of American Railroads and of Norfolk Southern Railroad and the rail crew. The overall objective of this position is to assign, direct and assist with rail/yard operations for customer vehicle loading, unloading and baying, while managing direct reports to get work completed safely, efficiently and according to standards.
