Responsibilities
Lead the daily activities of the Quality team, supervising inspectors and technicians to ensure products meet customer and regulatory specifications. Drive quality compliance and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and defects within a high-volume manufacturing facility.
Requirements
Requires 3-5 years of manufacturing quality experience and preferred supervisory experience, ideally within wire harness or electronics environments. An associate degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred, along with proficiency in ISO standards and quality tools.
Voltage is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead the daily activities of the Quality team in a high-volume wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing facility. In this role, you will supervise Quality Inspectors and Technicians while ensuring products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the manufacturing process. You will provide leadership on the production floor by driving quality compliance, supporting production teams, resolving quality issues, coaching employees, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives that improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Supervise daily quality inspection activities including incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
Ensure inspection activities support production schedules without compromising quality standards.
Monitor manufacturing processes including cable preparation, wire harness assembly, crimping operations, ultrasonic welding, and molding operations.
Verify compliance with customer specifications and manufacturing work instructions.
Escalate significant quality concerns to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, customer-specific requirements, and the internal Quality Management System (QMS).
Maintain inspection records and production quality documentation, including traceability and calibration support.
Directly supervise Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians, schedule daily assignments, and balance workloads.
Train and coach employees on inspection methods, quality procedures, performance expectations, and accountability.
Support hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations as the department grows.
Assist with customer complaint investigations, CAPA activities, supplier quality issues, customer visits, and audits.
Participate in root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, defects, and customer complaints while supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Monitor quality metrics, support new product introductions and process validations, and promote standardized work and best practices.
Collaborate closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Operations to support start-ups, line changes, and rapid problem-solving.
What We’re Looking For
Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of quality manufacturing experience may be considered.
Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing quality experience.
Minimum 1–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
Experience in wire harness, cable assembly, automotive, electronics, or a similar manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience with incoming, in-process, and final inspections, as well as customer audits and corrective actions.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and CAPA.
Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
Strong understanding of inspection techniques and quality tools.
Excellent leadership, employee coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Why Join Us?
Lead a quality team that directly impacts customer satisfaction and manufacturing excellence.
Work in a collaborative environment with cross-functional partners across production, engineering, and operations.
Help shape continuous improvement efforts that reduce defects, improve efficiency, and strengthen quality systems.
Additional Information
Regular presence on the manufacturing floor is required. This role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and inspect production operations throughout the workday; lift up to 25 pounds occasionally; wear required PPE; and comply with all safety requirements. Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments, and occasional travel to customer or supplier locations may be required.
