Center Background: The Center for Reproductive Rights is a global human rights organization working to ensure that reproductive rights are protected in law as fundamental human rights worldwide. With offices in New York City, and Washington, D.C.; Nairobi, Kenya; Bogota, Colombia; and Geneva, Switzerland, the Center is a non-profit, non-partisan organization changing law and policy throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the United States. Our 270+ diverse professionals are committed to advancing the Center’s human rights mission through game-changing litigation, legal policy, and advocacy work. This has powered the Center’s exceptional growth to an operating budget of over $60 million and won the respect of law firms in countries around the world. Our global pro bono network includes over 3,000 lawyers across 6 continents, 88 countries, and 140+ law firms. Last year, law firms contributed over $35 million USD in pro bono legal services. The Center’s Strategic Plan sets a high mark for impact: By 2030, half of the world’s population will be living under stronger protections for reproductive rights than they were in 2020. The Center has a record of success to back up this ambitious goal. Since our founding in 1992, the Center has transformed how reproductive rights are understood and applied by courts, governments, and human rights bodies worldwide on issues including maternal health, abortion, assisted reproduction, and adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights. We have won groundbreaking cases before national courts, U.N. Committees, and regional human rights bodies. The Center has also led development of historic, proactive legislation advancing robust protections for reproductive rights. The Job: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications Operations, the Coordinator, Communications Operations will support the function of a successful communications team by coordinating the department's budget administration supporting departmental budget processes including invoice processing, expense tracking, and maintaining organized financial records. They will assist with procurement and contracting for external vendors and consultants ensuring smooth execution while providing ongoing support for operational processes and project management. They will act as a point of contact for administrative and technical inquiries while collaborating with key departments to improve cross-department systems and processes. In addition, they will provide high-level administrative support to the CCMO by managing calendars, preparing presentations, reports, and identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes and recommend enhancements for the Communications Management unit. 

The positions will be based in the Center’s New York City office in a hybrid model of 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  

  • Support the department budget processes by processing invoices, tracking expenses, Brex Reports, reclasses, reconciliation, and keeping the department folders related to budget and finance organized and updated on SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.  
  • Support the procurement and contracting process for the department’s external vendors, licensing, and consultants from drafting through execution in coordination with the Senior Manager, Communications Operations, who will review, offer guidance and support particularly on larger contracts as needed.  
  • Support department operations processes by optimizing information flow across teams for shared projects, ensuring proper file organization, maintaining SharePoint, project management tracking tools, cataloging and uploading the Centers digital media in digital asset management system (i.e. Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, Canto, etc.)  
  • Support the day-to-day activities of CCMO and Communications team leads including deliver high-level administrative support, potentially including calendar management for the CCMO, travel arrangements, note-taking, and meeting preparation/follow up.  
  • Act as a point of contact for administrative and technical inquiries related to files, trainings, scheduling, and directing team members to the appropriate resources (i.e. SharePoint, Bitwarden, Monday.com, etc.).  
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Communications Operations and key teams to plan and execute projects including tracking timelines, coordinating with stakeholders, logistics, and ensuring successful completion of deliverables.  
  • Collaborate effectively as a positive liaison across the organization, working closely with key departments (i.e. Finance, Accounting, IT, Programs, etc.) to enhance cross-departmental systems and processes.  
  • Attend meetings, document key discussions and action items, and distribute meeting notes to stakeholders as appropriate.  
  • Other duties as needed.  

Compensation: The annual salary for the position is $73,440. This salary reflects a position based in New York City. This salary will be subject to a downward locality adjustment if authorization is granted to work outside the location listed in this posting. Note that most of the salaries listed on our job postings reflect New York, NY salaries, where our National offices are headquartered. 

Union Status:  This position will be part of the CRR Union, a shop within Local 2110 United Auto Workers—Technical, Office, and Professional Workers Union. 

FLSA Exempt Status:  This position is an exempt position.
