The role oversees more than $200 million in annual external spend across a broad portfolio of direct material categories, including raw materials, packaging, and other critical inputs supporting business growth and operational performance.
The role partners directly with Business Unit General Managers, Supply Chain Leadership, and senior cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, R&D, Marketing, Planning, Quality, and Operations, translating business priorities into procurement strategies and executive-level recommendations. Responsibilities include building and delivering multi-year value creation initiatives, managing financial and supply risks, leading strategic supplier relationships and complex commercial negotiations, and driving major cross-functional projects and supplier transitions.
The position also provides leadership and direction to the Procurement team, ensuring effective resource allocation, capability development, governance, and execution against Business Unit priorities. The role is expected to foster collaboration, build organizational capability, and enable the delivery of business objectives through strong procurement leadership and execution excellence.
In this role, you will:
Serve as the strategic procurement leader and trusted advisor to Business Unit and Supply Chain leadership.
Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business priorities, growth objectives, and operational needs.
Own annual productivity goals, cost savings programs, budget assumptions, and financial risk/opportunity planning.
Build and deliver a multi-year value creation pipeline through sourcing initiatives, specification optimization, demand management, and supplier transitions.
Lead strategic sourcing activities, complex commercial negotiations, and contract management across critical direct material categories.
Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships focused on cost, quality, innovation, sustainability, and supply assurance.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through business continuity planning, dual-sourcing strategies, and supplier risk management.
Lead supply recovery efforts, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to maintain continuity of supply and quality standards.
Partner with senior leaders across Finance, R&D, Marketing, Operations, Planning, and Quality to influence business decisions and execute cross-functional initiatives.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team by establishing priorities, building capabilities, and driving accountability.
Champion procurement excellence by supporting innovation and commercialization efforts, leveraging digital tools, analytics, AI-enabled insights, and governance processes to improve business outcomes.
What we look for:
10+ years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience within complex, global, matrixed organizations.
5+ years of supply chain experience with strong exposure to manufacturing and direct materials procurement, including raw materials, packaging, and external manufacturing.
Proven success developing and executing category strategies, sourcing initiatives, supplier transitions, and large-scale commercial negotiations.
Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable value creation through cost optimization, productivity improvements, risk mitigation, and business growth initiatives.
Experience managing complex global supplier networks while balancing cost, quality, service, innovation, sustainability, and supply assurance objectives.
Strong expertise in strategic sourcing disciplines, including category management, supplier relationship management, RFP/RFQ processes, cost modeling, should-cost analysis, contracting, and negotiations.
Extensive experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain risks through business continuity planning, supplier risk management, and resilience strategies.
Proven people leadership experience building, developing, and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
Strong commercial, financial, and analytical acumen with the ability to develop multi-year value creation pipelines and optimize total cost of ownership.
Exceptional executive communication and influencing skills, with experience partnering across Finance, R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership teams.
Demonstrated success leading organizational transformation, driving procurement excellence, and implementing process and capability improvements.
Experience leveraging AI-enabled insights, advanced analytics, and digital procurement tools to improve decision-making, sourcing effectiveness, supplier management, and business outcomes.
