Hybrid Schedule (subject to change): In office at least two days a week, Tuesday and Wednesday, and some Thursdays. Other days as needed for in-person meetings.
Position Budgeted: $58,000.00 to $66,000.00
Position Summary:
The Senior Program Associate serves as a member of The Philanthropic Initiative’s (TPI) professional staff, focusing primarily on supporting programmatic and strategic planning work for TPI clients and projects. This individual works collaboratively as a member of teams supporting specific TPI client engagements in designing, developing, managing and evaluating philanthropic programs and strategic plans; supporting client relationships; and researching philanthropic issues. The Senior Program Associate assumes increasing levels of project management responsibility for selected projects and programs. This individual also provides occasional support to TPI marketing, strategic planning, communications and business development efforts.
Essential Functions:
Support clients and TPI project teams, working directly with clients on certain projects;
Provide project management support and facilitate client meetings;
Prepare briefing papers and other materials to support client needs including research and analysis of social issues, best practices, and model approaches;
Conduct benchmarking research and community needs assessments;
Identify and present funding opportunities, including ideas for programmatic initiatives;
Provide ongoing management and support for programs and projects, including scholarship programs, college success programs and other programs that TPI manages on behalf of clients;
Conduct due diligence on grant proposals, review funding requests, track, monitor and evaluate funded projects, and conduct site visits with or on behalf of clients;
Provide support for strategic planning and facilitation, including designing and implementing surveys of key stakeholders and grant recipients; interviewing key stakeholders; compiling materials for strategic planning projects; and assisting with preparation for planning sessions/retreats with clients; and
Plan and coordinate events, including events connected with corporate volunteer programs, college success programs, and grantee convenings.

Qualifications
Preparation, Knowledge, Previous Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience;
At least three to five years of relevant work experience; and
Interest/experience in education, college success, and/or other social issues of interest to TPI clients, preferred.

Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office products including Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, as well as Internet research and database management;
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, organize and manage projects with multiple components, and implement complex activities;
