| Summary of Position: The Assistant Director of The Learning Center oversees the daily functions of The Learning Center (TLC). This position will oversee the hiring, recruiting, training, evaluation, and visioning of academic tutoring. The Assistant Director supervises desk workers and helps cultivate an atmosphere of hospitality and organization at the front desk. This position will also teach sections of the tutor training course. The Assistant Director will assist in developing and implementing preventative and responsive programs in the TLC to promote student success for IWU students. This role reports to the Director of The Learning Center and Academic Supports and serves on The Center for Academic Thriving team with the goal of supporting IWU-Marion’s students, improving the student experience, and increasing students thriving and institutional retention.
