At Lakeview Recovery Community, we are committed to ensuring equity of access to people from across the province who seek assistance in addiction recovery. We welcome men over the age of 18, of all ethnicities, sexual orientations and we seek to provide an inclusive environment. Our staff are culturally aware and sensitive to diverse needs. We work to ensure all client feel safe and secure in their new environment and that they soon feel at home.
Located in Gunn, Alberta, the Lakeview Recovery Community supports men living with addiction on their journey to a sustainable recovery. We deliver a full continuum of addiction recovery support in a community environment, focusing on healing and personal growth. Our goal is that individuals leave Lakeview with the life skills, tools, and resources to maintain long-term wellness and sustain recovery and having nurtured healthy relationships with friends and family.
Reporting to the Support Care Team Lead, the Support Care Worker will assist in the delivery of personalized recovery programs, offer emotional support, and help clients engage with the community and treatment processes. This position is ideal for empathetic, resilient individuals passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of those recovering from addiction and those willing to help wherever is needed around the Recovery Community.
Role-specific Accountabilities
Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and care to clients, assisting them in daily activities and supporting their recovery goals.
Encourage and assist clients in participating in various program activities, including therapy sessions, group meetings, work-as-therapy, and recreational activities.
Facilitate a range of group and individual activities which are responsive to the recovery needs of clients and the community.
Support the delivery of the Therapeutic Community program.
Monitor the well-being of clients and report any concerns or progress to the Support Care Team Lead, contributing to the adjustment of recovery plans and risk management plans as needed.
Assist in managing crisis situations under the guidance of clinical staff, ensuring the safety and security of all clients and staff.
Foster a positive, supportive community environment among clients, encouraging mutual respect, understanding, and support.
Perform administrative tasks as needed, including but not limited to, documenting client progress, attending team meetings, and maintaining client records.
Provide clients with information and guidance on healthy lifestyles, coping strategies, and life skills, contributing to their holistic recovery process.
Work collaboratively with the clients and their families on reunification and relationship building.
Shifts are available 24/7/365.
Qualifications
Degree or certification in psychology, social work, nursing, or related field preferred.
Experience in a caregiving role, preferably within mental health, addiction recovery, or a related healthcare setting.
Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle as required
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and confidentiality.
CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
Conditions of Employment
Successfully complete and pass a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check prior to initiating employment and annually thereafter.
