What you will do

Our Toronto office is seeking undergraduate or postgraduate students to join the team as a Summer Intern in Summer 2027, as a part of our Deal Advisory – Infrastructure, Capital Projects, & Sustainability practice.

Our Infrastructure, Capital Projects, & Sustainability Team 

KPMG’s Infrastructure, Capital Projects, and Sustainability (ICPS) practice is focused on being the trusted advisors of choice on major infrastructure programs within federal, provincial and municipal governments, and transport, education, power and utilities, digital, healthcare, energy and mining, sustainability, and Indigenous advisory. We are a team of 70 professionals within Toronto and a national team of over 250 including economists, engineers, project managers, finance professionals, accountants, and sustainability consultants.

Within the ICPS practice, our sustainability professionals support investors, corporates and public sector clients to address climate, decarbonization, low-carbon energy, sustainability and broader ESG requirements.  Examples of the services we provide include sustainability strategy and reporting, climate risk assessments, decarbonization planning, low-carbon energy development and procurement, ESG due diligence and value creation, and sustainable finance. While our practice serves clients across all sectors, our most frequent mandates involve industrials, natural resources, infrastructure, real estate, retail, cities, financial services, and private equity. 

 

In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality services to top-tier public and private sector clients including government agencies, municipalities, investors and asset managers, financial institutions, and private companies across sectors such as mining, telecommunications, infrastructure, utilities, and energy.

What you bring to the role

You strive to make a meaningful and positive difference alongside your peers, to work collaboratively and with innovation at the forefront. You’re passionate about being involved in your local community and post-secondary institution and have a proven ability to achieve personal and professional success while being curious as you learn emerging practices and technologies. 

 

You demonstrate: 

• Undergraduate or postgraduate student with a major in sustainability, business, engineering, environmental or climate science, public policy or other related programs. 
• Ability to combine both quantitative and qualitative analysis to understand and solve sustainability and climate-related business problems, including their potential commercial, operational, financial and strategic implications for the private and public sectors. 
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Demonstrated record of leadership roles in academic and/or extracurricular or community activities; leadership in sustainability-related activities are an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, and/or Python are considered an asset. 
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information  

 
The expected base salary range for this position is $41,000 to $65,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
