You will work within a team to create civil engineering plans for airport projects, including runways, taxiways, and utility infrastructure. The role involves using AutoCAD for geometric design and occasionally traveling to coordinate with airports and regulatory agencies.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Proficiency in AutoCAD and a willingness to obtain EIT or EI certification within six months of hire are strongly preferred.
RS&H is currently seeking an airfield engineering associate to join our passionate aviation team in Raleigh, NC. You’ll work in an office with your team to create civil projects for airports throughout the U.S. You will use AutoCAD every day to create plans, including geometric design. Projects you will work on under the guidance of more senior engineers include runways, taxiways, and aprons; bituminous and concrete pavement design; and stormwater and utility infrastructure design. You’ll occasionally (<25%) travel to coordinate with airports, airlines, the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), and construction management to better understand project details.
