The Bridge and Structural Carpenter constructs, erects, and repairs concrete forms for bridges, culverts, and walls according to project specifications. They are also responsible for tying rebar, operating construction machinery, and maintaining a safe job site.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in heavy civil construction and strong proficiency in reading blueprints and project specifications. The role requires the physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including lifting up to 100 pounds and working at heights.
Branch Civil is searching for a skilled, reliable Bridge and Structural Carpenter to join our well-established, growing company. The Carpenter is a skilled craft position that constructs, erects, and repairs forms and structures according to specifications, in include concrete footings, slabs, walls, columns, and bridge decks. This position requires a candidate who is familiar with the process and operation of machines used for the layout of bridge finishing, tying rebar, and other related duties associated with heavy civil construction. The ideal candidate should be capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions closely.
Travel is infrequent at project site. However, employee should be willing and able to travel to project site.
This position does not have supervisory responsibility.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands). The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week.
