The Business Planning and Reporting Manager develops and implements entity level budgets, and provides support for developing operating unit and departmental budgets. This position plays an active role in assuring executive leaders are informed during all phases of the budget cycle and are equipped with the tools, reports, and information needed to make sound business decisions. This position also provides a variety of related reports to support finance and executive leadership.
The Business Planning and Reporting Manager will take responsibility for developing significant portions of the entity-level budget as assigned, will be accountable for ensuring the budgets developed are accurate and complete, and will serve as the liaison to executive leaders in all aspects of the budget development, management, and monitoring process under the direction of the Senior Director of Business Planning and Intelligence.
The Business Planning and Reporting Manager will manage specific Division State and/or Federal funds, may perform specific accounting duties, and may lead other projects or support fiscal duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
At least three (3) years of experience in business management, accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least one (1) of those years in a supervisory OR financial/program management capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or similar professional designation.
Previous experience in development of budgets.
Previous experience with a state-supported institution of higher education in Arkansas.
Experience with Workday.
Experience with Anaplan.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively alone as well as with a team.
Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports to both internal and external personnel.
Ability to interpret and apply laws in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
Ability to apply an ethical code and good judgment, and to handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity and discretion.
