Provides leadership, direction, and support to medical assistants on patient related issues. Assists fellow employees in providing the highest quality, personalized patient care and maintains a positive working relationship with the health care team. Supports the Gonzaba coordinated care model by working with other GMG providers and support departments/functions to ensure a patient-centered approach is always provided.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
General Requirements: All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner.
Work Environment: Clinic environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Mental / Physical Requirements: Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work efficiently under pressure.

QualificationsEducation and Training: Minimum high school education or equivalent. Graduation from an approved practical nursing program. Must be state-licensed practical nurse with one year of LVN and clinic experience preferred. Must be CPR and AED certified. Must keep all licenses and certifications current and in good standing as initial and continued employment is contingent up these credentials. Must have knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology. Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions. Must have a good understanding of documentation standards.
Experience: Experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or hospital with a minimum of one-year experience preferred.
Other Requirements: Computer Skills: Skilled in use of computer/EMR systems. Knowledge of Word processing software, spreadsheet software, Internet, and database software.
