The optician is responsible for fitting eyewear, assisting patients with frame and lens selection, and performing necessary adjustments and repairs. They must also stay current with innovations in frames and lenses through continuing education.
Candidates must have one to three years of retail optical experience. A valid license from the Florida State Board of Dispensing Opticians is required.
The optician will provide proper fitting eye wear, assist patients in frame and lens selection, order and verify eyeglasses, and perform adjustments and repairs. The optician will stay up-to-date on new innovations in frames and lenses through continuing education.
