POSITION OVERVIEW:
Challenger Geomatics is looking for an experienced Project Supervisor for Construction Survey scopes to join our Alberta operations team on a hybrid remote/office schedule. The Project Supervisor is an experienced professional responsible for the day-to-day supervision of project activities in the field and/or office while performing high-level senior survey technologist duties. This position bridges the gap between technical staff and management, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to company standards. The Project Supervisor applies advanced technical knowledge and leadership skills to perform survey technologist duties at an expert level, coordinate staff, monitor quality, and maintain strong client relations. This role is accountable for project execution and supervision of assigned field and office technical staff as directed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Supervision / Execution
Planning, coordinating, and executing project work according to schedules, budgets, and specifications.
Acts as the on-site or operational lead for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring work is carried out in compliance with company, professional, and safety standards.
Assists the Project Manager with project setup, scope definition, and fee estimation.
Tracks project progress, WIP, and cost performance, initiating corrective actions as required.
Oversees collection and quality assurance of field data, ensuring completeness and accuracy before processing.
Coordinates project documentation, timesheets, LEMs, FLHAs, and progress reports based on the Project Manager’s direction or project needs.
Completes all Senior Survey Technologist duties and responsibilities as required.
Leadership, Mentorship & Supervision
Provides daily supervision, direction, and technical guidance to field and office staff.
Monitors deliverables to ensure they meet company standards for quality and efficiency.
Provides input to management on staff performance and development.
Supports a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety leadership.
Client Relations & Communication
Serves as a secondary client contact during project execution, maintaining open communication on progress, challenges, and deliverables.
Communicates issues and client concerns to the Project Manager as necessary.
Assists in developing client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional services.
Maintains consistent, professional communication among clients, project teams, and field staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering.
A professional designation (ASSMT OR ASET) an asset.
5+ years of construction field survey experience, and/or project coordination experience.
Experience performing survey calculations using Civil 3D,
Previous experience with construction survey scopes.
Providing innovative survey, mapping and geomatics solutions with the highest level of quality and service.
