The mechanic is responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, and repacking aircrew survival equipment including parachutes, life rafts, and oxygen systems. They must also document all maintenance actions in accordance with Navy instructions and ensure compliance with safety and explosive handling regulations.
Candidates must have completed Navy PR 'A' school or an equivalent service school and possess a valid driver's license. The role requires the ability to obtain a DoD CAC and pass periodic medical surveillance evaluations.

This position inspects, tests, checks, repairs, and repacks parachutes, parachute components and subassemblies; seat survival kits and their components; personal flotation devices and components; oxygen regulators, and ALSS equipment.
Employ a working knowledge of aircrew survival equipment and applicable explosive devices.
