The Housing Specialist manages all aspects of client case management to help families secure permanent housing. This includes coordinating with housing developers, managing NYCHA procedures, and utilizing the CARES system for documentation.
A high school diploma is required, though a degree in Social Work or a related field is strongly preferred. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in social or housing services and a valid New York State driver's license.
PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

The Housing Specialist will use HPD incentives for finders’ fees to brokers and owners, and develop contacts with both not-for-profit and for-profit housing developers. This role is responsible for ensuring that all clients are familiar with New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) forms and procedures, as well as the procedures for all other housing programs offered. This role is responsible for working at our Cauldwell location in Bronx, NY to enable the successful relocation of families to permanent housing.
